Vote YES on Proposal 1: An Amendment to Protect Against Unequal Treatment
All New Yorkers deserve the freedom to control our own lives, futures, and healthcare decisions, including our right to abortion. And no New Yorker should be discriminated against or taken advantage of by those in power. Prop 1 is a constitutional amendment that puts the power in the hands of New Yorkers, not politicians.
Don’t be fooled by the disinformation that this amendment will have catastrophic affects on New Yorkers. NYS law already provides these same rights and protections—this amendment simply codifies these laws into the state constitution, preventing future NY lawmakers from rolling them back.
-
Cement New Yorkers’ right to abortion in our state constitution.
Help women who have been victims of domestic abuse hold their abusers accountable in court.
Make sure the government cannot discriminate against older New Yorkers or pregnant New Yorkers, or LGBTQ New Yorkers when it comes to hiring, promotions, and pay.
Ensure that older New Yorkers and those with disabilities have the access they need to vote.
Protect access to reproductive healthcare, including abortion, birth control, and IVF, by making sure that politicians can’t pass abortion bans or restrict reproductive healthcare options.
