What is Project 2025?
Project 2025 is an extreme rightwing plan to dismantle federal agencies that protect our freedoms and democracy, while weaponizing and mobilizing the Department of Justice, military, and other agencies to punish political opponents and transform America into a White Christian Nationalist state.
Organized by MAGA loyalists and more than 140 former members of the Trump administration, Project 2025 will:
Ban abortion nationwide and end reproductive freedom and gender equity.
Raise the retirement age and gut Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid.
Destroy federal agencies and public services, including the Department of Education, the Environmental Protection Agency (and all climate initiatives), NOAA (free weather data), the FDA, NPR and PBS, Head Start and federal free lunch programs.
Roll back civil rights protections and gains in racial equity.
Build an economy for giant multinational corporations and the ultra-wealthy, at the expense of the middle class and a livable planet for future generations.
Strip LGBTQ+ people of their rights and criminalize trans people.
Enact cruel and inhumane immigration policies including the suspension of due process, detention camps, family separation and mass deportations.
Cut overtime pay and workplace safety protections and decimate union/workers’ rights.
End the separation of church and state.
